In order to promote tourism, Qatar offers visa exemption for 80+ countries and GCC members. The current rules and regulations are applied to the GCC residence permit holders.

Visa-Free Entry for Indians or Indian nationalities –

Indians are also eligible for visa-free arrival in the state of Qatar but according to the following norms and if they follow the conditions mentioned below.

  • Indians are granted visa-free arrival in the state of Qatar for a period of 30 days.
  • The traveler must have a confirmed return ticket.
  • The traveler’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
  • The traveler must have a valid debit or credit card (For a family traveling together, the card must be in the name of the passenger or one per family)
  • Traveler should provide a confirmed hotel reservation in Qatar.

Visa-Free Entry for Pakistanies or Pakistan nationalities –

Same as Pakistanies or the nationalities of Pakistan are also eligible for Visa-free arrival in the state of Qatar if they follow the conditions mentioned below –

  • Pakistanies can granted visa-free arrival in the state of Qatar for a period of 30 days.
  • The traveler’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.

Types of Qatar Visas

Here are different types of visas you can have for a visit to Qatar.

Family Visa For Qatar If you are working and want to bring your family to Qatar or want to renew visas of your family members, then you have to apply for this visa service. This type of visa allows your family member or the whole family to live in Qatar with you while you are working there with Qatar Work Visa.

Business visa For Qatar – There are two types of Business visas you can get to Qatar.

  • 72-Hours Business Visa – As the name indicates, this visa is given to businessman for 72 hours and can be further extended for 72 hours on request.
  • Business Visa – This visa is for the sake of contractual work and remains valid for three months. Your employer is responsible for arranging this visa. Moreover, the employer should operate an approved company or an institution in Qatar.
  • Investor Visa – This also comes under the category of Qatar Business Visa but the difference is, if you are planning to invest in Qatar then you must apply for this type of Visa. Before going ahead with this type of visa you need to read all the guidelines and protocols thoroughly because only a few ventures are listed there for investing in Qatar and applying for.

List of documents for apply Qatar Business visa – 

  1. A passport with the validity for six months from the date of arrival in Qatar.
  2. Financial Proof.
  3. Any document that can verify your purpose of visit.

On the other hand – Qatar has not the same business visa rules for every country. Businessmen who are nationals of certain countries (33) can get a direct entry visa under the visa on arrival scheme. Businessmen who have the nationality of the following countries can avail the opportunity of free entry visa:

Note – Residents of other countries need to get the visa before entering Qatar. However, the visa is subject to laws concerning entry and residency of foreigners and resolutions taken in that matter. It is also applicable to current rules for residents of GCC countries, and people arriving and departing on Qatar Airways.

Visas for Family Visits For Qatar – This visa is issued to a family member of Qatar residents for a short time such as one month. This visa is issued for a visitor who is going to visit their relative staying in Qatar. If the visitor wants to stay more than a month in Qatar, the visitor will have certain medical tests before the end of allowed duration that is one month. In case of immediate family members such as father, mother, sister, daughters, sons etc visa can be renewed for five months. For other relatives, visa can be renewed for two months.

Companions of GCC National Visa For Qatar This visa is issued to the house helpers, servants and drivers of Qatari residents when they enter at borders of Qatar from any GCC state. This visa is valid only for 1 month and can be renewed for the next five months. To avail this visa, certain conditions are required to meet such as the beneficiary has a valid residency visa in one of the Gulf states or if she arrives with the sponsor of one of the sponsor family members (wife or sons).

GCC Residents Visit Visa For Qatar – If you are a resident of any GCC states and want to visit Qatar, then you can avail this visa. You can get this visa when you arrive on Qatar’s border and can stay there for 14 days. You can also renew this visa for another 14 days. Conditions for this visa include that you have the nationality of one of GCC countries or you are visiting your relatives who are residents of Qatar.

Multiple Entry Visa For Qatar Multiple-entry Visas are issued to individuals, government establishments and businesses. This visa is valid for more than a year. Government establishments need approval from a specialized authority to get this visa.

Official Visa For Qatar Official visa is a free visa which is issued upon the requests of government institutions and ministries. The duration of such official visa is for one month and can be extended for five months but after taking medical tests and fingerprints of officials.

Tourist Visa For Qatar This type of visa is granted to the tourist through hotels or tourist agencies that have such a facility, on prior approval from competent authorities. It is also granted to relatives of Qatar residents through Qatar Airways. This visa is valid for one month validity and is non-extendable.

Issuance fee for Qatar Tourist Visa is QR100 for a visa and QR50 for accompanying the person. Overstay will be penalized for QR200 per day.

In order to get Qatar tourist visa, fill the application form and submit it through the Hotel Manager or his representative. Attach other required documents such as passport copy of the visitor, original establishment ID card of hotel or tourist agency, and ID of the applicant.

Qatar Work Visa Companies, private entities, and individuals can get Qatar work visa after the approval of the Interior Ministry. Your sponsor is responsible for the fee and collection of your visa.

Visas for Immediate Family For Qatar – In this regard, the Qatar government provides a visa for your wife and your children for more than a year. This visa allows wives and children of Qatar residents working in Qatar either as a government employee or private companies. Permanent committee for arrivals is responsible for approving these visas.

Visa for Newborns For Qatar The newborn visas are issued to newborn babies who are less than 3 months. This visa will be issued to babies on their arrival at the Qatari border. Parents must have an original birth certificate of the child. Some conditions for newborn baby visas are

  • Either baby should have his/her passport or the baby’s name is mentioned on passports of parents.
  • Parents are valid residents of the country.
  • Mother of the baby should be on the sponsorship of her husband (child’s father).

Note: No visa fee is applied to the visa for newborns.

Qatar Transit Visa – Nationals of 80 countries who can enjoy visa-free arrival on Qatar can also enjoy perks of Qatar transit Visa. You can enjoy Qatar tourist attractions and culture after availing free of cost transit visa. You can add a short transit or stopover between five and 96 hours in Doha to your itinerary without any additional fare charges.

Qatar Visa for Indians

If you are an Indian national and want to visit Qatar, then the good news is that according to the new Qatar visa policy, you can get the visa on arrival with valid and eligible Indian passport. Your passport must be valid for at least the next six months on reaching Qatar, and you must have a confirmed return ticket. You must have a valid debit or credit card.

In the case of families, the card must be in the name of the passenger or one card for the family. You should provide a confirmed hotel reservation. This visa waiver is valid only for 30 days.
