Roles & Responsibilities
Team Management: Supervise and provide guidance to a team of shipyard workers, including welders, fabricators, electricians, carpenters, riggers, and other tradespeople.
Work Planning and Scheduling: Plan and prioritize work assignments, ensuring that tasks are allocated appropriately and completed within the specified timelines.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work being performed and ensure compliance with established standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Safety Compliance: Enforce and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all workers follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and meet project requirements.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor the progress of shipbuilding activities, identify any delays or issues, and take necessary actions to mitigate them.
Coordination with Stakeholders: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination across different departments.
Problem Solving: Identify and address any technical or operational challenges that arise during the shipbuilding process, implementing suitable solutions.
Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Reporting: Prepare reports on work progress, productivity, and any incidents or accidents that occur on the shipyard.
