Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for the mechanical design engineering and development of water/ waste water treatment systems in compliance with client’s specifications, regulatory requirements and international standards.
Handling front end mechanical engineering design, basic design and detailed engineering for various water and waste water systems including water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, effluent treatment plants and produced water treatment packages.
Equipment sizing calculations, pipe sizing calculations, hydraulic flow calculations with drawings, pressure drop calculations
Preparation of piping material specifications.
Preparation of civil layout and foundation drawings with load calculations
Review and approve design calculations for ASME pressure vessels, tanks and civil foundations
Carry out pipe stress analysis and structural analysis
Review and approve vendor documents such as data sheets, drawings etc
Check and approve design calculations,
Check and approve Piping & General Arrangement
Check and approve Fabrication drawings
Check and approve Isometrics
Meeting with vendors, contractors, consultants and clients for kick off meetings, technical clarifications and project review.
Participate in design review, HAZOP, SIL and 3D model review, risk assessments and value engineering
Participate in pre inspection tests and shop FATs for vendor works
Assist with costing analysis and participate in components/products/vendor selection
Support the commissioning and installation activities with technical knowhow and expertise
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in design and engineering of water treatment plants as a mechanical design engineer.
Hands on design experience with package equipment’s, chemical injection packages, pressure vessels and tanks for high specification projects (for clients in Oil and Gas or Process Industries)
Expert level knowledge in preparation of P&ID, PFD, HMB, HFD
Experienced in preparation of detailed technical RFQs based on project requirements for process equipment’s such as pumps including dosing pumps, air blowers, compressors, manual and actuated valves, agitators, heat exchangers, sludge handling equipment, clarifiers etc.
Knowledge of international codes and standards related to process equipment and accessories, pressure vessels, tanks like ASME, ANSI, PF5500, UBC, API, BS and IS codes and / or engineering standards of leading Oil & Gas companies (Eg – ARAMCO, ADNOC, Shell, BP)
Knowledge of Reverse Osmosis, Ultra Filtration Technology is essential.
