Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities
The role is to effectively inspect accident vehicles to assess any damage sustained visually and check for necessity, cost and timescale of repairs. Evaluate and challenge the repair estimates prepared by the workshop with an aim to reduce repair costs, Loss ratio and impact on insurance premium. Implement an effective quality check process by inspecting repaired vehicles and ensuring the repair is up to standard. Ensure that accident repairs are carried out within the contractually agreed timelines and impact to fleet utilization levels are minimal.

1) Manage inspection of multiple repairs at a time

2) Examine damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage. Negotiate repair costs with the workshop.

3) Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.

34 To follow-up with the workshop for the timely submission of documents repairs of the vehicles and with Insurers for timely approvals.

5) Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts including but not limited to bumpers, fenders and doors.

6) Prepares appropriate documents for insurance claims.

Desired Candidate Profile
Graduate Engineer with 3 to 4 years of relevant experience.

Diploma Engineer with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience

Role holder should possess sound technical skills to understand the processes and procedures of repairing and restoring vehicles.

Good understanding of the cost of materials and labor and how to calculate the parts and labour costs and time required for repairs.

Attention to detail, Multi-tasking, Excellent communication skills.

Negotiation Skills

Should have worked Minimum 3 years in the role of detailed-oriented Auto Body Estimator.

Should have experience working in an auto body shop, inspecting damaged vehicles, estimating repairs, and writing repair orders.
