Summary
We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Physical Education teacher, who will be part of a dynamic and highly successful physical education department. The position carries responsibility for teaching physical education courses to our high school students.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be able to effectively:
• Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum
• Deliver an active, hands-on and student-centered programme to promote learning in physical education courses to HS students
• Maintain students attendance records, grades and other required records
• Evaluate and grade students class work and assignments
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations
• Assist students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class
• Observe, monitor and record student progress
• Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues
• Demonstrate creativity
• Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues
• Provide supervision to student after school activity or coach/assistant coach athletic teams
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Vice Principal
