Roles & Responsibilities
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road.
- Safely operate a heavy vehicle, such as a truck or trailer, to transport goods or materials to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly and distributed evenly to maintain balance.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for any mechanical issues or potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logbooks, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
- Plan routes and navigate using GPS or maps to optimize travel time and avoid traffic or road closures.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on the vehicle, such as changing tires or checking fluid levels.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and confidentiality.
- Provide excellent customer service, representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
