- Estimation: Developing accurate cost estimates for projects, including the determination of direct and indirect costs This involves considering variables such as project timelines, labor rates, materials, pricing, transportation permits, and overhead costs.
- Budget Development: Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets based on cost estimates They ensure that budgets align with project objectives and constraints.
- Supplier and Contractor Negotiations: Engaging with suppliers and contractors to obtain cost estimates for their services, materials, and equipment Cost and estimation Engineers analyze different supplier options, negotiating prices to secure the best value for the project.
