Mechanical Project Engineer Responsibilities:
• Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different teams.
• Completing blueprint designs using CAD software and making appropriate adjustments once the client and other engineers have seen them.
• Ensuring that all engineering and manufacturing processes are in keeping with the health and safety regulations of the state and the country.
• Supervising staff and manufacturing processes and making appropriate recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborating with other engineers and technical personnel to develop instructional and training manuals where required.
• Conducting research on field developments and networking with other engineers and professionals.
• Liaising with clients and writing up reports to present to shareholders and other relevant parties.
• Ensuring that each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe.
• Scheduling meetings and training sessions when necessary.
• Ensuring that staff remains motivated by implementing feasible incentives and regular team-building sessions.
Mechanical Project Engineer Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• A suitable master’s degree may be advantageous.
• Previous project management experience is recommended.
• A relevant license and certification may be required.
• Several years of experience working in the engineering field.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• The ability to motivate staff.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime if required.
• Exceptional industrial project management experience
• Strong expertise in mechanical equipment and complex machinery
• Extensive expertise with mechanical systems, including high-pressure water, compressed air pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and mechanical building codes
• Outstanding skills in machinery and equipment design
• Excellent ability to conceptualize and fully implement projects
• Superior familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Sound familiarity with fittings, valves, pumps, and in-line components
• High skills in production process support
• Conduct structural design evaluation for access platforms and buildings.
• Direct mechanical equipment purchases as required.
• Ensure that all performed work adhered to factory and local safety codes.
• Present project scope proposals and contracts to appropriate vendors.
• Oversee mechanical facility designs for layout, plant, utilities, and equipment arrangement.
• Review all project scope and budget documents for submission to management.
