Lab Assistant ( Lube Oils)

Job Description

To perform the routine analysis of the samples from refinery,
blending,grease and waste oil departments.

To submit the results to the corresponding departments from where the samples come for the test.

To keep the lab equipments in order and inform their status/update them,if any to defective or not in order.

To keep updates about the status/availability of the chemicals to the quality control manager in due time.

To issue the certificates of the samples for the internal departments.

Assuring the authenticity of results of sample analysis for waste oil refinery final & Outsourced products.

INSRUMENTS HANDELED: –

Flash and fire point by Cleveland open cup(ASTM D 92)

Flash and Fire point by Pensky-Martens Closed cup(ASTM D 93)
Pour point of the products(ASTM D 97)

Kinematic viscosity at 100ºC and 40ºC using capillary viscometer(ASTM D 445)

Apparent viscosity of engine oil between -5ºC and -30ºC using the Cold Cranking Simulator(ASTM D 5293)

Density,relative density,or API gravity of petroleum products(ASTM D 1298)

Colour using lovibond colourimeter(ASTM D 1500)

Water in petroleum products(distillation method) (ASTM D 95)

Foaming characteristic of lubricating oil (ASTM D 892)

Copper strip tarnish test(ASTM D 130)

pH and Conductivity meters.

Dropping point of lubricating grease(ASTM D 566)

Ash from petroleum products(ASTM D 482)

TAN and TBN of lubricating oil by potentiometric titration(ASTM D 2896)

TAN and TBN by color-indicator titration(ASTM D 974
