Medical Insurance Underwriting Department – Production
Job Purpose:
· To issue policies and endorsements.
· To uphold the company’s ethics, operating policies and conform with the department work instructions.
Primary Duties Performed:
· Follow up on department policies and procedures and adhere to the set KPI’s.
· Prepares policy documents / certificates of insurance and endorsements by entering appropriate and adequate underwriting information.
· Issues endorsements, additions, deletions and lost cards.
· Prepares accounting documents – debit / credit notes – in favour of clients / brokers, etc.
· Ensures correctness of the documents issued.
· Ensures policy documents (after a self-check) are placed for signature on the same day of issuance or maximum the next day.
· Maintains a filing system to keep a record of all documents issued.
· Answer phone calls and attending to inquiries.
· Prepares correspondence, filing and dispatching of documents in a timely manner.
· Assists in any other matters as and when required by the Supervisor.
Work and Business Contacts:
· Internal: Other Department Staff and Key Personnel of GIG.
· External: Clients, brokers, and any other parties of business interest.
Qualification & Experience Required:
· A university degree / Diploma in insurance.
· Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
