Physical Security Engineer

Job Description

The Physical Security Engineer (Video Surveillance/Access Control/Integration) position collaborates with a team of sales, estimation, engineering, and field technicians to ensure proposed solutions, are communicated, and implemented appropriately, to the budget, and with the best client satisfaction. The role will also require ongoing maintenance, support and ensuring uptime of deployed systems.

Programing, installation and support/maintenance of the related hardware and applications.
Coordinate closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to review, understand, and implement the designed solution matched with customers business and/or bid requirements.
Identify labor, material, and time requirements by conducting site surveys, studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
Review input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the customer or consultant.
Pre-engineering site walks to support design and estimation.
Visit job sites for post engineering tasks, review the proposed solution with stakeholders and check the bill of material prior to purchase.
Provide technical documentation and work closely with CAD department on project close-out documentation.
Provide support to team-member field technicians to enhance their product knowledge.
Desired Candidate Profile
Four-year college degree in a related field
Strong Networking knowledge and experience is required.
Minimum three years of engineering experience working with below products or similar:
Video Surveillance Software (preferred)
Milestone Xprotect VMS, Genetec Omnivision, Avigilon ACC Software
Video Surveillance Hardware
Cameras: Axis, Pelco, Hanwha, Avigilon, Bosch, Hikvision etc.
Servers: Dell, HP, Lenovo etc.
Storage: Dell-EMC, Promise Technology, Veracity, Fibernetix or similar
Access Control/ Intercom Hardware
Lenel Onguard, Software House, Gallaghar, Nedap or similar
Network and Data Center Infrastructure
Site preparation, UPS, ATS, Cabling, Cooling, Cabinets etc.
Microsoft Windows Server OS
VMWare vSphere or similar
Cisco, HPE/ Aruba, Extreme Networks Switches
Experience working with Various vendors for gate barriers, turnstiles, parking barriers, barricades, bollards etc. will be a plus.
Vendor certification for the hardware and software products listed above is highly desirable.
A high-level understanding of Data Center infrastructure is highly desirable.
Detail understanding of the Low voltage systems and related protocols.
Project coordination and management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational and time management skills.
