Roles & Responsibilities
Core deliverables will include:
Fundraising and Relationships Management
Generate and pursue fundraising opportunities to deploy GiveDirectly’s model
Work with government officials to seek appropriate permissions for programs
Build contacts with like-minded implementing partners and NGOs
Handle meetings with prospective and confirmed partners
Develop high quality brand-accurate content for GiveDirectly’s work
Program Management
Oversee operational excellence of all programs
Be accountable for annual KPIs associated with recipients paid, recipient experience, and operational efficiency
Manage program stakeholders, internally and externally to align on objectives and timelines
Anticipate and proactively manage risks to program delivery, stakeholder relationships, and recipients
Internal Audit
Collaborate and coordinate with GiveDirectly’s recipient advocacy team to prevent misconduct, including designing appropriate controls
If necessary, provide leadership and oversight of investigations of alleged misconduct, ensuring best in class safeguarding and zero tolerance of fraud
Partner Management
Oversee high quality program delivery through local partner
Build capacity of partner staff at various levels by ensuring they have clearly defined metrics for success and regular feedback mechanisms
Other deliverables as needed
What we’re looking for:
Required
10+ years of experience, of which at least 5 is in a similar role or function (e.g. country management, social sector business development, program management, consulting)
Strong background and track record of success in fundraising in the social sector
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent capacity to establish rapport and build relationships.
Strong understanding of the social sector in India
Experience working with the government in India
A high degree of autonomy and resilience. Enthusiasm for fast-paced environments, that involve significant learning by doing
Team management experience
Strong project management skills
Analytical problem solver: you look at problems with an analytical and iterative mindset and a strong framework for prioritization
Alignment with GD values
Nice to have
Prior experience supporting or leading expansion into new markets or geographies
Experience working with a distributed and multicultural team across different time zones

Terms of Contract
Location: New Delhi, India
Travel: Travel may be required, in which case travel related expenses would be covered.

About the hiring process
Format: The hiring process follows the same general outline for all open roles:
First interview (30 mins)
Take home skills assignment (~2 hours)
Second interview (1 hour)*
Third interview (1 hour)*
Final interview (1 hour)
Reference checks (30 mins each)
*For some roles, second & third interviews are combined into a panel interview. If there are adjustments or variations on this process, those changes will be communicated during the first interview.
Venue: We conduct interviews over Google Meet with camera on (unless communicated otherwise).

Desired Candidate Profile
About this Contract:
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the GiveDirectly program launch. Your contract will include working with local partners to launch operations in India, managing partnerships with government, funders, and private sector agencies, and building processes and partnerships that enable achievement of short-term goals (KPIs) and create conditions for long term growth. You will draw on internal and external resources but will ultimately be accountable to both recipients and donors for delivering a gold standard product.
The ideal person will have excellent relationship building skills, a high degree of autonomy, a strong understanding of the social sector in India, and prior experience starting and managing new programs end to end without a predefined playbook.
